SARCF utilizes various breeds of specially trained, non-aggressive dogs to locate lost or missing people.

Current K-9 capabilities include air scenting, cadaver search and water search.

All handlers are certified at minimum to the SAR Tech II Level and can be self sufficient for up to 72 hours.

Mounted Division

SARCF has a minimum of four (4) horses available at any given time to assist search efforts. Horses are particularly useful if the search area is removed from vehicle capable roadways or a large search area exists. The use of horses can increase the amount of time searchers can stay in the search area because supplies can be packed in. All mounted team members are certified at the NASAR SAR Tech II level.
